Alumna of Sundance script lab, the Latino Screenwriting Project, and a winner of the Virginia Screenwriting Competition, Via’s projects have been recognized by Stowe Story Labs, Tangerine EntertainmentIFP, WIFV DC, Women And Hollywood, Cinequest, and more.

Via just completed her first short project as Writer/Director called, THESE COLORS DON’T RUN, which was shot on film, and received support from Kodak, and grants from the Arlington Commission for the Arts and the Love Your Shorts Film Festival, and was produced by Michael Tully (PING PONG SUMMER; SEPTIEN) and Wilson Smith (KRISHA; IT COMES AT NIGHT).

THESE COLORS DON’T RUN will screen in Fall 2017 at the Austin Film Festival, the New York Latino Film Festival, DC Shorts, the High Falls Film Festival, and the Cucalorus Festival.

Via lives in the Washington DC region, where she works on indie productions, and as a workshop presenter and script consultant. She is currently editing her third feature script and developing a comedic series (loosely based on her own upbringing) about charter schools.
